Individual Psychotherapy for Adults & Adolescents

The therapy process begins by establishing a good fit. Credentials, experience, and personality are all things to consider when choosing a therapist. I encourage those considering therapy to follow their instincts. If after the first meeting you walk away feeling understood or thinking about something that troubles you in a new way, you and the therapist likely have a “good fit” —the foundation for a good working relationship.

My clinical experience includes work with people of all ages and culturally diverse backgrounds. Listed below are some areas where I may be of help. If there is a more specific concern that you are looking to address, please feel free to contact me and we can determine if I am a good fit for you. If together we determine that a “good fit” exists, we will collaborate on a treatment plan, and from there begin the therapy process.

Some areas of focus common to adolescent and adult psychotherapy may include

  • Relationship concerns and problematic patterns
  • Emotional struggles with anxiety and depression
  • Recovery from traumatic experiences
  • Resolving separation, grief, and loss
  • Issues of identity and belonging, including sexuality, gender, sexism, and heterosexism
  • Family concerns including parenting stress and managing conflict
  • Engaging aspirations and creativity for greater fulfillment
  • Addressing issues of oppressions, racism, and cross-cultural conflict
